Long-time Museum Director to Retire

The Wayne County Historical Museum has announced the retirement of Jim Harlan, its Executive Director, effective in April.  Jim has been the Museum’s CEO since 2005 and previously served on its Board of Directors.  Board President Eugene Cruz-Uribe said “Jim has shepherded the Museum well during his tenure.  The physical plant has been expanded and improved during his tenure and the Museum’s finances are in excellent shape, thanks to Jim’s stewardship.  There has been an enthusiastic response to the Museum’s expanded programs for school-aged children.”  Harlan said that his time at the Museum “has been thirteen years of pure enjoyment on my part.  I feel that I have accomplished my goals and now it is time for a new face to take the Museum to its next level.”  The Museum is starting a search for the new Executive Director.
